An education provider is “delighted” to confirm development of a new independent school has officially begun.
Felden Hall School will be an independent specialist day school in the 18.5-acre Felden Lodge site between Bovingdon and Felden, near Hemel Hempstead.
Formerly Christian youth organisation The Boys’ Brigade’ training centre, Witherslack Group will adapt it to cater to children and young people with special educational needs.
The education provider’s director Mark Bowes said: “We are delighted to be opening Felden Hall School and look forward to welcoming our first cohort of pupils in autumn 2025.
“Expanding into this new geographical area allows us to provide children and young people across the region with an inspiring learning environment, empowering them to achieve outstanding futures.”

It will initially accommodate up to 150 pupils, aged eight to 16, with a wide range of needs including autism and speech, language, and communication difficulties.
There are plans to expand it to include children aged five to 18 further down the line.
Felden Hall School is also expected to create around 40 new jobs across its educational, clinical, and support roles.
