Police arrested a man after supermarket staff reported there was a shoplifter with a weapon.
Herts Police have confirmed they received the report from Waitrose & Partners staff at the Homestead Road, Rickmansworth, location on Tuesday (November 26).
A man in his fifties was arrested nearby on suspicion of theft and possession of an offensive weapon, which was a screwdriver. He remains in police custody as of the latest update from police.
Sergeant Gary Yam said: “Due to the quick reporting actions of store staff, officers were able to attend the location swiftly and make an arrest.
“We remain committed to working with our local partners to tackle retail crime support businesses in the Three Rivers.”
