A man has been banned from the centre of Watford after being arrested for having an axe in the town.
Herts Police have shared a picture of Darren Lane and a map showing the area he cannot enter this afternoon (November 26) after he was given a three-year criminal behaviour order (CBO).
The force arrested the 50-year-old following reports that he had the weapon in Monica Close on January 31, 2024. Lane was then charged with possession of an offensive weapon.
The CBO, issued at St Albans Crown Court on November 15, means he is banned from entering the town centre area, having an offensive or imitation weapon in public, owning any blade other than a “recognisable kitchen knife”, and entering a home in Watford where he is not a tenant or without the agreement of the landowner.

Inspector Dan Jones said: “The type of behaviour displayed by Lane will not be tolerated in Watford.
“The CBO sets out strict conditions which he must abide by for the next three years. It is a criminal offence to breach any of these conditions.
“It is our duty to ensure that we keep the residents of Watford safe.
"If anyone witnesses Lane breaching any of his conditions or is seen in the prohibited areas on the map, please contact police immediately.”
