A young cancer patient at Watford General Hospital has celebrated the end of her cancer treatment.
Hiba Khan celebrated the amazing achievement by ringing the hospital’s end of treatment bell on Monday (November 18), after two years of cancer care at Watford General and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The five-year-old, who lives in Watford, was first diagnosed with leukaemia at the age of three in October 2022.
“Our world stopped,” Hiba’s mum, Safeenah, said. “She was given the best treatment over the years.
“Of course it wasn’t easy, but I can never thank the team enough for the love, support and care given to my daughter and my family.
“She was in good hands, and I had 100 per cent faith in them. Today, we have our happy, jolly princess back."

So far this year, six children have rung the bell to symbolise the end of cancer treatment and mark their bravery, courage, and determination.
Paediatric oncology clinical nurse specialist Helen Farmer said: “It is a momentous occasion and brings the child, family and their friends together with the nursing, medical, play teams, hospital and community staff, that have been on their journey with them and supporting them.
"It's always a happy and emotional day and symbolises a huge milestone in the completion of their treatment journey.”
