A hospital charity is appealing for donations to bring festive cheer to patients and NHS staff.
West Herts Hospitals Charity, the official charity for West Herts Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, has launched its "Christmas Smiles" appeal.
The charity is asking for donations of gifts for patients and festive treats for NHS staff working over Christmas.
Alison Rosen, CEO of West Herts Hospitals Charity, said: "As the festive season approaches, the charity’s focus is on ensuring that every patient feels the magic of Christmas, even while in hospital.
"These gifts provide comfort and show patients they are not alone.
"This year, the charity is encouraging people to donate in memory of loved ones, sharing NHS stories to recognise the care received, by leaving a special dedication to NHS staff who make such a difference every day."
The charity is seeking donations of new, unopened gifts suitable for patients of all ages, such as toiletries, pyjamas, and activity books.
They are also encouraging fundraising activities, such as a Christmas Jumper Day, to raise funds.
Monetary donations are also welcome, with £90 sponsoring a festive hamper for an NHS ward team, and £20 providing winter warmer gifts like blankets, scarves, and gloves for patients.
West Herts Hospitals Charity supports patient care at Watford General, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans City hospitals.
