A popular playground is set for a makeover, with plans approved for a complete revamp.

The Ebury Play Area at Rickmansworth Aquadrome will get several new additions after plans were given the green light, according to a Three Rivers planning portal notice published today (November 19).

Submitted by the Three Rivers District Council Leisure Team earlier this year, the refurb will see the arrival of a wooden hilltop tower with traversing ropes, two willow dens, log scramble, sand pit, tunnel and a play hut on the banks of the River Colne.

The existing spinning dish, chain bridge and climbing frame will remain in place, while swings and picnic benches will be relocated.

Playground builder Earth Rights will oversee the redevelopment following a public consultation which took place in spring.
