Police descended on a Watford road after a clash left a man with GBH-level injuries.
Two men in their 30s who are known to each other were reportedly involved in the row in Leavesden Road on Saturday night (November 16).
This morning (November 18), Herts Police have confirmed that they were called with reports of an assault at 10.43pm and attended alongside colleagues from the East of England Ambulance Service.
A spokesperson said one of the men had sustained the serious injuries and added that a fast-moving investigation led to the arrest of another man.
They said: “A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding/inflicting GBH without intent.
“He has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

“Anyone with information is asked to please contact police via 101 or online, quoting crime reference number 41/97139/24.”
Pictures from the scene show a police car and ambulance in Leavesden Road, with an officer stood on the pavement who appears to be talking to a person under a heat retaining blanket on the ground.
The ambulance service has confirmed that it was also called to reports of an assault.
One ambulance was sent to the scene and transported an adult man to Watford General Hospital for further assessment and treatment, a spokesperson said.
