A spectacular "supermoon" has been spotted across parts of the UK last night, in what is the last time to see the phenomenon this year.
It marks the fourth supermoon of the year – and the last time to see the it until November 2025.
The phenomenon occurs when a full moon is at its closest point in orbit to Earth, therefore appearing even bigger in size - known as a perigee.
One resident spotted the moon lighting up the sky above his home in Garston:
According to astronomers, yesterday's moon, also known as the "Beaver moon", looked around 14% larger and 30% brighter than usual.
Keen-eyed astronomers have already witnessed three different moons this year, including the Blue Moon in August, September's Harvest moon and the Hunter's moon in October.
