Drink driving, allegedly possessing bestiality images and assault are among the reasons Watford area residents have landed in court over the last seven days.

Our round-up also includes a man accused of possessing 73 indecent images and a motorist banned from the road and forced to shell out over £1,000 after being caught drink driving.

Jayesh Dixit

Jayesh Dixit, of Dumbletons in Maple Cross, was hit with a £923 fine after admitting being over the legal limit while behind the wheel of a Volvo on Uxbridge Road.

According to court documents, he had 60 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – above the 35 micrograms limit – on March 24 this year.

The 55-year-old pleaded guilty at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Friday, November 8, before being given the £923 fine and ordered to pay £85 costs and £369 surcharge.

Dixit was also banned from driving for 20 months – which can be reduced by 20 weeks subject to an obligatory driving disqualification course.

His guilty plea was taken into account during sentencing, according to court papers.

David Baruch

David Baruch, of Grandfield Avenue, appeared in Willesden Magistrates' Court on Friday, November 8, and indicated a guilty plea to making indecent category C images of children.

The 67-year-old also faces two other charges of making indecent photographs/pseudo-photographs of children – for category A and category B images respectively – and one charge of possessing extreme pornographic images.

No plea was recorded for those three charges and Baruch is next scheduled to appear, for a plea and trial preparation hearing, at Harrow Crown Court on December 6.

Narada Wilson

Narada Wilson, of no fixed abode from the Garston area, appeared in St Albans Magistrates' Court on Thursday, November 14, having pleaded guilty to assault by beating.

The 26-year-old was handed a 30-day community order and given a restraining order against his victim after assaulting him in Watford on August 10, 2023.

Wilson's guilty plea was taken into account when he was sentenced.

Hussain Yaqoob

Hussain Yaqoob, of Addiscombe Road, appeared in St Albans Magistrates' Court on Thursday, November 14, accused of driving while disqualified.

It is alleged that he drove a blue BMX Index in Watford in March of this year, despite being banned from driving.

After pleading not guilty, Yaqoob has been granted bail ahead of his next appearance in St Albans Magistrates' Court on January 20.

Silviu Branzei

Silviu Branzei, of Brixton Road, appeared in St Albans Magistrates' Court on Thursday, November 14, accused of theft.

It is alleged that on October 11, he stole a £109 bottle of perfume from The Fragrance Shop in Watford.

Branzei denied the offence and will next appear in court on November 28.
