A global company has made an application to make changes to its goods vehicle operator’s licence at its depot in Watford.

UPS want to alter the number of trailers that are allowed to operate out of its site on the Odhams Trading Estate.

The proposal has been published in the Public Notice Portal, which is used to access upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and applications.

Herts County Council has also posted its intention to temporarily close some roads in Watford, Rickmansworth and Abbots Langley.

St Albans Road, Watford – goods vehicle operator’s licence

A global shipping and parcel delivery service wants to make changes to its operator’s licence for its premises in Watford.

UPS Ltd of UPS House, Lotus Business Park, Staines-Upon-Thames, Middlesex, TW18 3AG is applying to change its existing licence to allow it to keep ten trailers at its operating centre at Unit 5, Odhams Trading Estate, St Albans Road, Watford, Hertfordshire, WD24 7RY.

Any owners or occupiers of the land near the premises wishing to make representations should do so in writing to the Traffic Commissioner, Quarry House, Quarry Hill, Leeds LS2 7UE.

Marlborough Road, Watford – temporary closure

Herts County Council is intending to make an order to prohibit vehicles from using Marlborough Road, Watford from its junction with A411 Exchange Road south westwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 32m, except for access, to allow utility service works to be carried out.

If made, this order will take effect from November 25 and be valid for up to 18 months, but the restrictions will only apply at times shown on signs at or near the roads.

Various roads in Rickmansworth and Abbots Langley – temporary closures

The county council is intending to make an order to prevent vehicles from using the following lengths of road to allow works to be carried out:

- Valley Road, Rickmansworth from its junction with Berry Lane north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with The Clump, a distance of approximately 310m.

- Valley Road, Rickmansworth from its junction with The Drive north westwards for a distance of approximately 450m.

- Old House Lane, Abbots Langley from its junction with Bucks Hill north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Langleybury Lane, a distance of approximately 1700m.

The order, if made, will take effect on November 27 and be valid for up to 18 months but the restrictions will only apply at times indicated on signs at or near the roads.

Anyone having a claim against or an interest in the estate of Ian Kenneth Oakins, late of 161 Princes Avenue, Watford WD18 7SQ, who died on September 20, 2024 should send written particulars to Penman Sedgwick LLP, 5 George Street, Watford, WD18 0SQ.

This should be done no later than January 9, 2025.
