A beloved village shop is set to reopen later this month, with the former owner's children looking to give it "a new lease of life".
The Chipperfield Larder in The Street closed in 2022, but could reopen within weeks with a new look and name.
Now named Pani Coffee and Kitchen, the shop is undergoing a makeover, with the children of previous owner Angela Panayi at the helm.
Natalie Reynolds, 42, will be taking over alongside siblings Lexi and Chris Panayi.
She said: "We took over the keys in June knowing that we had a lot of work to do. We've completely changed the interior and its taken a while to get to where we need to be.
"Painting is being done and a new sign up will be going up in the next week or two. We're just putting the finishing touches on it before being ready to announce a date."
Natalie says the shop - which has been in the family for 25 years - needed a "refresh" to modernise it.
Promising to give it that new lease of life, she told the Watford Observer: "We want to be somewhere that can become a home away from home for the locals, a place where the barista knows your coffee order and it all feels very comfortable."
As part of the makeover, a new counter has been built from scratch with a new coffee machine on the way, as well as new tables and chairs.
Customers new and old can expect "lots of healthy options, as well as a naughty corner where you can get all your cakes and pastries".
The menu will also include porridge bowls and fruit granola, as well as the return of an old favourite - the scotch eggs.
Breakfast will be "really healthy" but sausages and bacon baps will be on offer for those looking to indulge in a treat.

Natalie says the family checked with old regulars to ensure that some of their favourite menu items from yesteryear would make a return.
Pledging to be a "friendly, family-oriented hub for the whole village", she revealed that the new shop will be dog-friendly and include a play corner with books and Lego for parents visiting with their young children.
