Several bus routes are set to be affected by an emergency road closure in Watford tonight (November 14).

Lower High Street will be closed from 8pm until 5am, causing changes to a number of routes that typically serve the town centre.

Intalink has confirmed that routes 142, 258, 306, 321 and 602 will not serve any stops between Water Lane and Stop G (Bushey Arches).

Passengers have been advised of alternative ways to board if travelling tonight.

These are:

  • Using Beechen Grove or Bushey Railway station for the 142 and 258 buses.
  • Boarding at Bushey Hillside Road for the 306 and 602 buses.
  • Boarding at the Watford Hospital Thomas Sawyer Way Car Park for the 321 bus.

Arriva has also warned its customers that the 321 service will be diverted via Vicarage Road during the road closure.

It is currently unclear what caused the emergency closure. Intalink and Hertfordshire County Council have been contacted for more details.
