One of Watford’s worst roads for potholes has been resurfaced after being labelled “pothole city”.

The deteriorated surface of St Albans Road, Watford, contributed to it being found to be one of the most dangerous roads in Hertfordshire for cyclists based on accident data.

Its junctions to Leggatts Wood Avenue, Brixton Road and Balmoral Road emerged as collision hotspots.

North Watford county councillor Asif Khan described the “much anticipated” work as “vital” for those who rely on the key route every day.

The upgrade has apparently already made a difference for nearby businesses, cyclists, and motorists.

Sections of the road were closed overnight while the resurfacing was carried out.
