Three Rivers District Council is asking residents to contribute to its cultural strategy.
Locals are being asked for their thoughts on what culture means to them and the places, activities, and traditions they value.
Views on barriers residents face in accessing cultural resources in the area are also being sought.
Elaine Johnson, the council's culture and heritage officer, said: "Culture can be a difficult word to define. It’s who we are, how we live our lives, and how we express our identities.
"As people and as a community, the activities that we take part in and the places that we visit define the culture of our district."
The results of the consultation will be used to shape the council's five-year cultural strategy, aimed at supporting and growing the culture sector in Three Rivers.

The consultation is open until November 22.
Councillor Chris Lloyd, lead member for leisure, added: "Three Rivers is an exciting place to live. We would like to learn more about how our residents access these opportunities.
"Their feedback can help shape a vision for culture in Three Rivers, so I encourage people to have their say."
