A “neglected” shed between houses at the corner of two Watford roads would be cleared to make way for apartments under new plans.
The site, near where Tavistock Road meets Eastfield Avenue, is “underutilized” according to planning documents added to Watford Borough Council planning portal yesterday (November 8).
It is currently occupied by a large unused storage building and overgrown vegetation, which the applicant says hurts the street’s “overall aesthetic quality”.
The shed would be demolished under the proposal.
Designs show the developer is seeking permission to build a two-storey building containing a two-bedroom flat and a three-bedroom flat in its place.

“By replacing the unsightly, neglected site with a high-quality, well-designed duplex, this new development would significantly enhance the streetscape and the area’s character,” it added.
The building would be arranged with one flat on each floor. Two parking spaces would be provided at the front.
The proposal is currently pending council consideration.
