Plans are in the pipeline for a huge warehouse by the A41 that is 50 per cent bigger than what was previously agreed.

Outline plans for large warehouses for a 30,000-square-metre project were approved by Hertsmere Borough Council in August after they were reduced from an initial 45,000-square-metres in response to planning officers’ comments.

Despite this, the applicant has now gone back in with another application for the full 45,000-square-metres.

It is described as a “phased development” which could be brought forward in several sections and/or plots.

The developer added: “The proposal will bring substantial and much-needed investment into the borough, deliver significant job creation, provide training opportunities and supply a very welcome boost to economic output.”

As both proposals are outline applications, with the details of the appearance, landscaping, layout, and scale reserved, a full planning application will still need to be submitted and approved before work can go ahead even for a 30,000-square-metre project.
