Watford Community Housing has taken over 141 homes in London as residents move into homes it bought in St Albans.

Hendon Christian Housing Association (HCHA) transferred all its homes in Barnet and Enfield to the housing association, which was formed as a stock transfer from Watford Borough Council in 2009.

It means the Clarendon Road based charity is the new landlord for the residents starting this month and responsible for maintaining their homes.

HCHA apparently did not have a full staff team or enough homes to make the cost of employing staff viable and Watford Community Housing(WCH) put forward a partnership proposal.

WCH also announced today (November 7) that the first residents have started moving into the 93 homes it bought at the Jubilee Square development in St Albans.

In a report published earlier this year The Regulator of Social Housing gave WCH the highest rating for validity, stating that it was well set up to cope with potential “adverse scenarios” and still fulfil its obligations.
