Bus routes often change for a variety of reasons. This one this vehicle was serving no longer exists due to alterations to the road network.
The Watford Observer is delighted to share pictures from the archive at Watford Museum and this week we look back at this photo of this bus in St Albans Road.
The museum’s volunteer archivist Christine Orchard said: “If this London Transport 346 bus came along St Albans Road today it would not be able to reach its destination of Oxhey using the route described on the front.

- A glimpse inside a high street pub from the past
- Memories of Watford High Street before the flyover
“The Pond crossroads has vanished under the current underpass and slip roads that run past the Town Hall. It's not possible to travel down the High Street from St Albans Road either, so impossible for the bus to reach Bushey Arches.
“This photo shows the bus very close to the Town Hall and High Street. The road beyond the bus is The Avenue which used to connect directly with St Albans Road.”
