Residents have voiced their dismay after a popular picnic bench spot was left destroyed by "mindless vandals".
The bench in Kings Langley's Primrose Hill Recreation Ground was pictured yesterday (November 4) after seemingly having been set on fire.
Paula Wright, works in Kings Langley and often enjoys a stroll through the park, took a picture of ruined bench yesterday afternoon.
She said: "Really sad to see that this is all that remains of one of the picnic benches in the park.
"It's a shame to see such mindless vandalism in a park that is enjoyed by so many and looked after well by the parish council."

Another resident took to social media, writing: "I'm hoping this is removed before my dad sees it. He and my mum used to sit on these benches daily until she sadly passed away a few months ago."
Another user suggested that the parish council will be removing the remains of the bench from the park today (November 5), noting that it's particularly disappointing as it was originally positioned there to be helpful for wheelchair users.
Parish councillor Sara Bedford said: “Mindless vandalism is becoming more prevalent across local play areas and green spaces.
A new bench will cost over a thousand pounds, plus the time of council staff to install. All of this comes out of the pockets of residents through our council tax”.
