A highly popular Santa sleigh will once again bring festive joy to the streets of Watford this Christmas following a successful appeal for volunteers.
Last month, the Watford Observer reported that the festive tradition was under threat unless organisers from the Rotary Club of Watford could attract fresh blood to accompany the sleigh as it tours the town’s streets in December.
The club’s event coordinator Simon Feldman has been delighted with the response to the appeal.
“We’re incredibly grateful that so many local people have volunteered their time to help Santa in Watford this year,” he said.

“Seeing the sleigh is a big part of the build up to Christmas for many people, and the donations which are collected make a huge difference to local charities.
“Being able to continue this great tradition is something we are very proud of.”
For the first time this year, it will be possible to track Santa live as he makes his way around the streets of Watford, via a specially designed website – www.santawatford.co.uk.
The sleigh is donated by Warner Bros. and every penny raised goes to support local causes and charities.
