Motorists have been warned of long delays this evening after a crash by the A41 put a motorcyclist in hospital.

The sliproad from the A405 onto the A41 eastbound at the Leavesden Interchange is shut following the crash at around 3pm today (November 1).

As of 5.30pm, there is heavy congestion on the A41 eastbound towards The Dome roundabout – particularly near North Watford Cemetery – as well as on Colne Way on the approach to the roundabout.

A Herts Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at around 2.55pm today (1 November) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a white Ford Transit van and a grey Yamaha 125-A motorbike.

“Road closures have been put in place, with the slip road being closed.

“The East of England Ambulance Service are also attending the scene.”

It is unclear how badly the motorcyclist was injured. The East of England Ambulance Service has been contacted for details.

There are also long delays on St Albans Road near North Watford due to what appears to be another road closure, according to Google Maps, but it is not believed to be linked to the A41 crash.
