Some Kings Langley and Chipperfield residents were left without power for more than 12 hours after an outage caused by an underground cable fault.
Power went out for residents in the Vicarage Lane area at around 8pm last night, with UK Power Networks dispatching a team to the area.
While it had initially been hoped that power could be restored overnight, UK Power Networks confirmed that the outage was resolved shortly before 12.30pm.
At 8.30am, a UK Power Networks spokesperson said: "Our engineers are still trying to pinpoint the exact location of the underground cable fault. The estimated timeframe to have your power back on remains unchanged.
"We're sorry for the disruption this power cut may be causing. If you're worried about elderly or ill neighbours, we can offer help and support to our vulnerable customers during a power cut."
Teams were forced to dig up the road in a bid to resolve the problem.
Customers received a message at 8.15pm last night informing them of the outage, with a third of properties in Kings Langley and most of Chipperfield believed to be impacted.
