A man in his 80s was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after one of two nearby crashes within 15 minutes.
Police were called at 8.04 last night to Bunkers Lane, near Nash Mills, after a BMW 520D, blue Ford Fiesta and grey Hyundai IX35 collided.
This morning (October 30) the force confirmed two people were taken to hospital, including the pensioner who was badly hurt.

Fire and ambulance crews also attended, with closures put in place around Bunkers Lane, Lower Road, and Red Lion Lane. They were lifted at 1am.
Another crash nearby 15 minutes later
In what is believed to be an unrelated crash nearby, police were also called to Nash Mills Lane, which joins Red Lion Lane, around 15 minutes after the Bunkers Lane collision.
A Herts Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to a road traffic collision occurring on Nash Mills Lane at around 8.20pm on Tuesday 29 October.
"The road traffic collision involved two cars, a silver Honda Civic and a green Nissan Tekna."
They added: "Four people suffered slight injuries and were taken to hospital as a precaution."
Road closures were put in place before being lifted at around 10.15pm.
