Kings Langley residents have expressed their dismay at the disappearance of several dog bins, causing an increase in poo being dumped.
Locals have been taking to social media to voice their displeasure after several dog bins in the village were "quietly removed" at the end of last week.
The bins at the top of Langley Hill and the Common are among those to have bitten the dust, with some dog owners seemingly resorting to dumping their waste on the ground.
One user wrote: "The council in their infinite wisdom have removed the dog bin at the top of Langley Hill. Dog owners, please use your brains and do not leave your dog mess in the hedge!"
They went on to say: "I’m going to have to call the council to come and remove this disgusting mess."
Other users branded the dumping "disgusting", with one resident saying they'd been left "speechless" by the recent increase in littering.

The removals are not limited to Kings Langley, with Dacorum Borough Council removing dog bins from across the area.
Bev Moody, from Hemel Hempstead, wrote: This same issue happened in a field in Leverstock Green.
"The poo bin was removed and another erected across the field. Last time I walked there a pile of over 50 filled poop bags was piling up like a plastic pyramid."
Many residents speculated the removal of the bins is a cost cutting measure on the part of the borough council.
This morning (October 29) , the council shared a statement on its social media accounts, reading: "We have several red dog waste bins around the borough that are now aging and damaged. Recently, a small number of these bins have been removed due to being broken or unsafe.
"With modern bins and waste processing, regular litter bins can now handle dog waste safely.
"All removed dog waste bins are close to existing litter bins, so please use these for dog waste or take it home with you to help keep our community clean and enjoyable for everyone."
This statement has been met with a broadly negative response from residents.
A spokesperson for the borough council told the Watford Observer: "Recently, a very small amount of dog waste bins have been removed in some areas, including Kings Langley, as they were either damaged or posed a safety risk to our crews.
"Modern bins and waste processing now allow regular litter bins to handle dog waste safely.
"With over 1,100 litter bins throughout the borough, residents have plenty of convenient options. Where dog bins were removed, nearby litter bins are available to maintain accessibility and we will be monitoring these to ensure they provide enough capacity."
