Residents are likely to face more disruption, with major works set to close a road in Kings Langley for four days next week.
Langley Hill will be closed 24/7 from November 4-8 while UK Power Networks carry out essential utility works.
Traffic website One Network has warned that delays are "likely" during the four day closure.
Residents have predictably reacted unhappily to the news with one taking to social media to blast what they called "12 months of chaos for locals".
Another posed the rhetorical question "which road in our area hasn't been dug up or closed this year?"

The latest closure comes after locals hit out at the "chaos" caused by Affinity Water works in nearby Watford Road last week.
On that occasion, "essential maintenance" saw temporary traffic lights erected and complaints of 50 minute delays in the morning.
Meanwhile, Toms Lane remains closed at the junction of Primrose Hill until November 8 as gas company Cadent carry out works.
