Ofsted has heaped praise on a "warm and welcoming" pre-school after rating it 'good' in all areas.
The education watchdog visited Bluebell Pre School in Woodhall Lane, South Oxhey, last month for its first inspection since opening in 2022.
Inspectors found that children are "warm and settled" in the "exciting" environment that is created by staff.
Staff were praised for their work to improve children's vocabulary and instil positive attitudes to healthy eating.
The report says: "Staff discuss the nutritional benefits of the foods as they prepare it, promoting a strong focus on healthy eating. They model positive behaviour by eating with the children, encouraging them to try new foods."
Inspectors noted that children develop a love for good books, with praise given to the "well-used cosy reading corner" and plentiful reading opportunities provided.

The curriculum is described in the report as "ambitious", with the pre-school's key person system labelled "robust".
Children are "consistently encouraged to develop their independence", for example, peeling fruit at snack times and scraping their plates after meals.
Bluebell Pre School provides day care for children aged between one and four, with 20 children currently on the roll. It operates within Woodhall Primary School.
Inspectors were impressed with the "extremely hard" work of staff to support pupils with special educational needs (SEND).
The report says: "They work closely with families and a range of external professionals to ensure that children receive the support they need. Staff receive bespoke training to use equipment to support children, ensuring they are inclusive within the pre-school."
The watchdog also found that parents speak highly of the pre-school and that communication between staff and parents is strong.
Morale among staff was said to be high, with the report noting that they communicate well with each other, helping to ensure a smooth transition when children move to primary school.
The report notes that staff have a "shared goal of providing the best possible start to children's education".
Safeguarding arrangements were found to be effective, with an open and positive culture that puts children's interests first.
