A Watford man has been charged with eight counts of having an improvised weapon in prison.
Frank Brinkley, 23, appeared in Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (October 23) and is next due in court for an appearance at Aylesbury Crown Court on November 20.
HMP Woodhill, near Milton Keynes, is a high security prison holding category B prisoners and category A remand prisoners. It is described by HM Inspectorate of Prisons as "a high-risk and complex jail".

According to Thames Valley Police, the charges relate to “an incident” at the prison on August 24, last year, but Brinkley was released before he was charged with the offences.
According to court documents, two charges refer to sharpened metal, two charges refer to a snapped metal conduit, one refers to a piece of metal folded with a pointed end, one refers to metal sharpened and wrapped with a paper handle, and one refers to a sharpened piece of metal wrapped in green cloth.
Brinkley, of Loates Lane, was granted bail, with conditions, ahead of his crown court appearance.
