Former Shuropody staff have launched their new business this week after being left jobless by its sudden closure.
Heel Harmony opened in Queens Road, Watford, on Monday (October 21) and has already started offering services including standard podiatry, verruca treatment, toenail reconstruction, reflexology, as well as biomechanical and insole appointments.
It comes after the podiatrists at the former Shuropody location down the road, who have now launched Heel Harmony, were told “pack everything up you are closed” without warning on July 5.
Co-owner Leila Ruocco described the launch as “amazing” following a tough period for the staff, most of whom were left without a source of income after the closure.
“Everyone has been so supportive in what we are doing, and they have all been so happy to see us all back together as a team,” the former Shuropody store manager said.
“The customers have been saying also how professional we are looking and how lovely the place is."
There are two clinics upstairs and one downstairs. The team, who described each other as “like a family”, includes three podiatrists and two receptionists.

When Shuropody closed, customers told the Watford Observer they were left “stranded” due to a lack of any similar locations to visit within a five-mile radius.
Steve Macauley has already booked in appointments for himself and his wife after they were left using a service they were not very happy with since July.
“As soon as we heard, through another old customer, we rang up and we’re delighted to say we will be going back on a regular basis again with the same person we used before,” the 75-year-old added.
“They always did a great job.”
Heel Harmony is open 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday. Bookings can be made by calling 01923 939774 or via email at hello@heelharmony.com.
It shares a unit with Finecraft Jewellery, after owner Dov Bloom partnered with the team when they decided to launch their own business.
Leila said that the jewellery pieces the business has out "add that bit of sparkle and shine to the place" and customers love it.
