The manager of a Bushey nursery has been left beaming with pride after Ofsted inspected it for the first time.

N Family Club, based at 73 Bushey Hall Road, opened in summer 2023 and received plenty of praise from the education watchdog after last month's visit.

It was rated 'good' in all categories, in what was one of the area's first inspections under the new system where 'single-word' Ofsted ratings were scrapped.

Nursery manager Sara Fleischer told the Watford Observer said: "I am so proud of my team at N Bushey, who strive to provide the best care and education to our children every day. Our Ofsted inspection outcome is a testimony to their commitment.

"I look forward to continuing to welcome current and future families to our nursery going forward."

The report praised the "strong knowledge" staff possess of the children, noting the bonds that form between children and their key person.

Inspectors also found that children behave well, with the values of the nursery "embedded" in the learning experience.

The curriculum is described as "strong", allowing children to make good progress, and overall the report found staff engage well with children.

N Family Club, which provides free early education to two and three-year-olds, had 88 children on its roll during the inspection and operates all year round.

Although largely positive, the report did highlight some areas for that could improve, stating: "Occasionally during transitional times of the day, staffing arrangements and the routine in place do not fully benefit the oldest children.

"For instance, a number of children become less engaged and focused during the transition after lunch. Some staff become busy completing tasks and not all children receive the support they need to deeply engage with activities."

Parents were found to be "very happy" with the nursery and spoke highly of staff, while safeguarding arrangements were found to be effective, with an "open and positive culture that puts children's interests first".
