Herts Police have appealed for information after rushing to the scene of a fatal crash alongside the ambulance service.
The force had been called to the edge of its police area, in Temple Gardens between Northwood and Rickmansworth, at around 7.20pm on Thursday, October 17.
It was reported that a black Ford Fiesta, travelling from the direction of Moor Lane, had left the road and hit a tree.
Officers arrived alongside the East of England Ambulance Service and found the driver and sole occupant, a man in his 30s, with life threatening injuries.
He was taken to hospital but it has now been confirmed that he died there the following day.

Sergeant Luke Morley said: “We are investigating the circumstances as to what led the car to leave the road and as part of this I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or have any footage from a dashcam of the collision which could be vital in our investigation, to make contact.
