Organisers have said that a hugely popular Santa sleigh that brings joy to the streets of Watford is “under threat” without new volunteers.
Each year, the Rotary Club of Watford works to bring the Christmas spirit to the town’s roads from November 30 to December 23.
The sleigh is donated by Warner Bros., but the operation is completely run by local volunteers and more are needed to make sure it can go ahead for 2024.
"The smiles on children’s faces as they catch a glimpse of Santa is truly priceless and makes every evening priceless,” said Watford Rotary Club event coordinator Simon Feldman.
“However this beloved tradition is under threat due to volunteer numbers. We are reaching out to local communities to come forward and help ensure its future.”

The organisers are looking for anyone who can spare an evening or some time over a weekend, as well as a ‘reindeer’ to provide a vehicle with a tow bar that could tow Santa around his routes.
Anyone who can help is asked to contact Simon Feldman, at simonjfeldman@gmail.com, who is helping to recruit volunteers.
Every penny raised goes to support local causes and charities. Card and online donations are now being accepted and for the first time residents will be able to visit a website with a live tracker for the sleigh.
