A proposal to convert part of a Hertfordshire railway station car park into a school playground is among the latest planning applications being considered by Watford, Three Rivers, Dacorum and Hertsmere councils.

West Midlands Trains Property has applied to Dacorum Borough Council for permission to erect a 1500m high fence to secure an unused part of the car park at Berkhamsted Station for use as a playground for nursery children.

The application form states play equipment will be installed but will not exceed the height of the fence and areas of safety matting will be fitted near the equipment.
