A yellow weather warning has been issued for all of Hertfordshire - with disruption to travel expected.

The Met Office’s latest weather warning for the county has been in place since around 4am on Friday, October 18, after heavy fog was due to descend on the area.

It will remain in place until 9am on the same day, meaning those travelling on the roads should take care during morning rush hour.

It stretches across much of the South of England and up towards the Midlands.

While it remains in place, drivers should expect disruption and slower journey times due to the fog.

A Met Office spokesperson added: “Areas of fog, dense in places, are likely to cause travel delays this morning.

“Areas of fog, including some dense patches reducing visibility to less than 100 metres at times, will impact travel during the morning rush hour.

“Fog will, however, slowly lift and clear through this morning.”

There is a chance of delays to public transport while the Met Office also warned there is a risk that flights could be cancelled as a result of the weather.
