Drivers are set to face delays when two of Watford’s busiest roads are shut later this month to allow works to be carried out.

A daytime closure is due to start in Clarendon Road on October 26 to enable repairs to be carried out on a pedestrian bridge, and the following day an overnight closure is due to begin in a section of St Albans Road for resurfacing works.

Both closures are scheduled to last at least a week.

The following information is sourced from the One.Network website and is a selection of the roadworks due to take place in and around Watford in the coming weeks:

- Part of The Common and Windmill Hill, Chipperfield, will be closed from 9.30am to 3pm, from today (Friday) until Tuesday to allow road lining to be carried out. The closure on The Common will be 9m back from the junction with The Street and both legs at the junction with Dunny Lane. Traffic will be diverted at these times.

- An overnight closure will in place in Bushey Mill Lane, Watford, from 11.25pm to 5.45am, from Monday to Wednesday for works by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd. A diversion will be in operation and emergency access will be maintained.

- Motorists will be unable to use Solesbridge Lane, Chorleywood, from 9.30am to 4pm, between Monday and Wednesday due to roadworks. Emergency access will be maintained.

- A month-long closure of Berry Grove Lane, Bushey, will start on Monday for works by Leep Electricity Networks. The road is due to remain shut to vehicles until November 25 and a diversion will be in operation.

- A road closure will be in place in Clarendon Road, Watford, from 8am to 5pm, from October 26 to November 3 to carry out repairs to a pedestrian bridge over the road near to the roundabout by Watford Junction. A diversion will be in place.

- A section of St Albans Road, Watford, will be shut from 8pm to 5am, from October 27 to November 7 for surfacing works. The closure will be in place from just before the junction of Windsor Road to No. 151 St Albans Road, just past the junction with Leavesden Road. A diversion will be in operation.

- Works by UK Power Networks mean Otterspool Way, Watford, will be shut from 8am to 6pm, from October 28 to November 3. The works will also affect Park Avenue and Hartspring Lane. Traffic will be diverted.

- Sheepcot Lane, Watford, is set to be closed near to the junction with North Approach from October 28 to November 8 for gas works by Cadent, subject to a licence being granted.
