A Watford school has been recognised for its "outstanding achievements" after winning a top award.
Future Academies Watford was named 'School of the Year' at the Future Academies annual conference.
Each year, the academy trust, which runs 10 schools in London and Hertfordshire, hands out its 'Shaping the Future' awards at its conference to recognise schools and staff for "exceptional" achievements.
This year, the Watford school won the award, which it described as a "prestigious accolade".
The school said this is a "significant milestone" in its history which recognises the "outstanding achievements" which have been made over the last year.
Principal Sam Fox, speaking after the win last Friday, said: "In a community long impacted by the divide caused by selective education, the progress we’re making at Future Academies Watford is crucial to ensuring that fairness and excellence remain central to Watford's education system.
"We are proud to serve this community and excited for what the future holds as we continue to set and hold the highest standards of education for all."
The school is known for its traditions, which include its pupils greeting the principal with a handshake every morning and the rule of not walking on the grass.
