The Northern Lights returned to Hertfordshire overnight (October 11), with a stunning display dazzling residents across the county.

The lights returned to the Watford area after previously making an appearance in May.

The Northern Lights are often spotted in places like Finland but are rare in the UK - especially in the south east of England, making last night a rare chance to catch a glimpse of their beauty.
