The Northern Lights are visible across parts of Watford, Bushey and Kings Langley again tonight - months after a stunning display lit up the skies in the county.

Stargazers across the country have been lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis, on numerous occasions already in 2024.

The most prominent for Watford and Bushey was a Northern Lights display in May with readers sending in their stunning pictures.

If you haven't managed to see them yet, you should head outside now.

Angela Scott, a member of the Watford Observer camera club Facebook page, was quick to catch the stunning light display in Kings Langley.

And reader Dawn King sent in these pictures from Bushey. Was one a shooting star?

By Dawn King (Image: SUYN) Brits are set to get another chance to see what is described as "one of the most spectacular displays in the night sky" tonight, according to Met Office forecasts.

The Northern Lights are often spotted in places like Finland but are rare in the UK - especially in the south east of England.

Met Office spokesman Stephen Dixon previously said there was a chance of some visible auroras across parts of the UK on Thursday night and into the early hours of Friday.

He added that there was still “some uncertainty” as to when exactly the auroras would be visible - but it seems they have been visible from around 8pm onwards.

Mr Dixon told the PA news agency: “When it does reach Earth, there are likely aurora sightings in Scotland and Northern Ireland, with a chance of some sightings in the north of England and slightly further south."
