Motorists may experience some delays to their journeys in and around Watford in the coming weeks due to road closures for roadworks, including one lasting more than a month.

A closure is scheduled to start in Berry Grove Lane on October 21 that will remain in place until November 25 for works by an electrical contractor.

Before then, and as we reported in this round-up last Friday, two separate sets of works are set to start in St Albans Road on Monday.

The following information is sourced from the One.Network website and is a selection of the roadworks due to take place in our area during the rest of this month.

- Delays are likely in Clarendon Road, Watford, on Saturday and Sunday due to works by Affinity Water. Two-way traffic lights will be in use.

- A lane will be closed in St Albans Road, Watford, on Monday to install a new carriageway access cover and frame due to a collapse. This work will be taking place adjacent to Penn Road.

- Works by UK Power Networks mean delays are likely in St Albans Road, Garston, between 9.30am and 3pm, from Monday to October 25. Two-way traffic lights will be in use close to the entrance to Stanborough Park Church.

- Sydney Road, Watford, will be closed to vehicles from Monday to Thursday for works by Affinity Water but emergency access will be maintained at all times.

- Part of The Common and Windmill Hill, Chipperfield, will be closed from 9.30am to 3pm, from Friday, October 18 to October 22 to allow road lining to be carried out. The closure on The Common will be 9m back from the junction with The Street and both legs at the junction with Dunny Lane. Traffic will be diverted at these times.

- An overnight closure will in place in Bushey Mill Lane, Watford, from 11.25pm to 5.45am, from October 21 to October 23 for works by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd. A diversion will be in operation and emergency access will be maintained.

- Motorists will be unable to use Solesbridge Lane, Chorleywood, from 9.30am to 4pm, between October 21 and October 23 due to roadworks. Emergency access will be maintained.

- A month-long closure of Berry Grove Lane, Bushey, will start on October 21 for works by Leep Electricity Networks. The road is due to remain shut to vehicles until November 25 and a diversion will be in operation.
