Watford's MP has backed the government's decision to switch off the giant advertising board at London Euston station, branding the display "overbearing and oppressive".
Matt Turmaine wrote to Transport Secretary Louise Haigh to express his support for the move, which came after commuters expressed fury at the large advertising board which replaced the former departure's display.
The board was switched off last week after concerns were raised over safety at the station.

In his letter, Mr Turmaine said: “I congratulate you on shutting down the swanky enormous advertising board which nobody had asked for, was overbearing, oppressive and added nothing to benefit the experience of passengers.
"I’m glad it has hit the buffers as it served no other purpose other than to raise revenue."
The station is one of the biggest in London and is used by thousands of Watford commuters and travellers each day.
The government has announced a review into the station's management, with Ms Haigh set to meet with senior management at National Rail.
Mr Turmaine welcomed the review, saying: “Improvements are clearly required. I welcome the plan and immediately turning off something which added nothing puts things on the right track."
