Drunk driving less than 15 yards in a BMW 4 Series has seen a Watford man ordered to pay £1,845.
Nathan Mistry, of Queens Road, appeared in Bolton Magistrates’ Court on September 27 and admitted to driving while over the legal limit for alcohol in Mawdsley Street, Bolton, on July 17, 2022.
He was fined £1,257 and must also pay a £503 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs.

However, the 31-year-old was not given a driving ban, as court documents state there was “no possibility of risk to other road users”.
This was because of the shortness of the distance he drove, which was “no more than 15 yards to park up his car that had been damaged in a car park in the early hours of the morning”.
Mistry (who also had an address in Freshfield Court, London, listed in court documents) had 92 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, which is more than two and a half times the legal limit of 35 micrograms.
