Bomb disposal experts were called to deal with a suspected mortar round at a business park.

Police taped off Kingley Park, off Station Road in Kings Langley, on Saturday evening after a suspicious object was reported.

This morning, October 7, Herts Police have confirmed that they had been called to the scene at around 6pm and that the object is believed to have been a mortar round.

A spokesperson said: “Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit were deployed to the scene and the object was deemed non-viable and was disposed of safely.”

The business park contains a small number of large warehouses occupied by a range of businesses including a shop, a garage, and several distributors.

It backs onto the railway line, around 500 metres north of Kings Langley Station and opposite Ovaltine Court.
