A 91-year-old golfer scored his second hole-in-one at Chorleywood Golf Course topping off a 50 year career in the sport.

On Thursday, October 3 Mervyn O’Brart scored with a single stroke off the tee at Chorleywood.

The veteran golfer was quick to recall his first hole-in-one in 2020, saying it was "sheer chance", preferring this attempt - both achievements occurred on the 129 yard 3rd hole.

“This was a proper golf shot, it was great, I was playing with my partner and he said 'that’s my ball where's yours?' We looked down at the hole and there it was," he said.

He added: "My handicap is about 25 too so I expect to lose a ball rather than get a hole-in-one.”

Mervyn has been a member of the club for over 40 years, winning his first trophy, the Club Championship bronze medal in 1994, and winning the Seniors Cup at least once in each of the last 4 decades.

He told the Observer that he will keep playing until he "stops enjoying the sport" and when he starts "swinging too many bad shots".
