Affinity Water has shared an update after a burst pipe shut a key road between villages.
The Langley Road/Chipperfield Road route between Kings Langley and Chipperfield was shut on short notice after the burst was reported at 3.27pm on Wednesday (October 2).
Motorists who had to take the roughly four-mile trip needed to go around the closure were left confused yesterday after it appeared that the barriers were still up without any work going on.

An Affinity Water spokesperson confirmed that “the repair itself” was completed at 1.10am on Thursday, so the team at the scene’s work was done.
“We are now awaiting the reinstatement of the road, which typically occurs within three working days, barring any complications such as the need for concrete or other factors,” they added.
“We are currently working with our reinstatement team for more detailed information but will keep you informed as the reinstatement progresses.”
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire County Council said that the road is scheduled to reopen on Monday, October 7, but it may be that Affinity Water is able to reopen it ahead of schedule today (October 4).
The footpath has not been closed.
