Motorists using one of Watford’s busiest roads are being warned of delays to their journeys due to three different sets of roadworks in the next two weeks.

Drainage works are due to begin on Monday in St Albans Road, between the junctions with Leavesden Road and Balmoral Road.

The following week, a lane closure is due to be in operation while works are carried out adjacent to Penn Road – and at the same time 11 days of daytime works are set to begin in St Albans Road, close to the entrance to Stanborough Park Church.

Other major roads where delays are likely this month include the A405 North Orbital Road and Langley Road.

The following information is sourced from the One.Network website and is a selection of the works due to take place in and around Watford in the coming weeks:

- Drainage works are likely to cause delays in St Albans Road, Watford, from 9.30am to 3pm, from Monday to Friday, October 11. The works are due to be taking place from the junction with Leavesden Road to the junction with Balmoral Road and multi-way traffic lights will be in use.

- Motorists are likely to experience delays in Langley Road, Watford, from Tuesday to Thursday while Affinity Water carry out works. Two-way traffic lights will be in use.

- Delays are likely on the A405 North Orbital Road from 9.30am to 3.30pm, from October 11 to October 14 to allow safety fence inspections to be carried out. The work will be taking place between the Garston Longabout and the Leavesden Green Roundabout.

- Orphanage Road, Watford, will be shut to vehicles from 9.30am to 4pm, from October 11 to October 15, for road lining. The closure will be in place from the Radlett Road Roundabout to the roundabout junction with Reeds Crescent.

- Delays are likely in Clarendon Road, Watford, on October 12 and 13 due to works by Affinity Water. Two-way traffic lights will be in use.

- A lane will be closed in St Albans Road, Watford, on October 14 to install a new carriageway access cover and frame due to a collapse. This work will be taking place adjacent to Penn Road.

- Works by UK Power Networks mean delays are likely in St Albans Road, Garston, between 9.30am and 3pm, from October 14 to October 25. Two-way traffic lights will be in use close to the entrance to Stanborough Park Church.

- Sydney Road, Watford, will be closed to vehicles from October 14 to October 18 for works by Affinity Water but emergency access will be maintained.
