A man has been banned from driving for over two years after he was caught drink driving near a holiday park.

Hugh Devine, of Nair Green in South Oxhey, was charged with driving a vehicle while over the legal limit for alcohol on August 24 in Northampton.

The 56-year-old was caught near Billing Aquadrome Holiday Park “after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in your breath, namely 111 micrograms in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit”, according to court papers.

The legal breath limit is 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

He was sentenced at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on Monday, September 30, where he was disqualified from getting behind a wheel for 26 months.

Devine was also ordered to complete 80 hours’ unpaid work within 12 months and must pay £85 costs and a £114 surcharge.

His guilty plea was taken into account during sentencing, court files show.
