Watford and much of Hertfordshire has been lashed by torrential rain in recent days – but have we seen the last of it for now?
Thankfully the coming days’ forecast looks relatively pleasant, according to the Met Office, with a mixture of sun, cloud and 16-17C temperatures providing welcome relief.
Autumn walks and pub garden visits are back on the agenda this weekend as Saturday is expected to have a mix of sun and cloud (17C), while Sunday should be cloudy but the same warmth.
Today (October 2) and Friday are set to be similarly pleasant – 16C with sunny spells.

Longer range forecast
According to the Met Office’s longer range forecast for the East of England – covering Monday (October 7) to Wednesday, October 16, "widely unsettled conditions" are on the way.
It says on its website: “An Atlantic low pressure system will drift eastwards across the UK through the first part of next week.
“This will bring widely unsettled conditions, with showers or longer spells of rain, heavy and persistent at times, especially over hills. Strong winds are possible too, with exposed and windward coastal areas prone to the strongest winds.”
The low pressure theme will continue to dominate the rest of the week with “showers or longer spells of rain” expected.
“There is a possibility that a deeper low pressure system, ex-Hurricane Kirk, will move close to the UK around mid-week, bringing further spells of wet and windy weather.
“Alternatively, this system could remain to the west of the UK. However, the theme of unsettled weather is expected to prevail.”
