Hello, I’m Trixie, a five-year-old ex-racing greyhound who’s looking for a new home. I came to the National Animal Welfare Trust in December 2023 and am now the centre’s longest-staying resident.
I’m a friendly, confident girl who loves to play, snooze and spend lots of time with my favourite people. You’ll know when you’re approaching my kennel at the centre, because you’ll hear my squeaky toys before you see me.
I absolutely love toys and playing, I have a toybox in my kennel and like to rummage around in it to find my favourite ones. Sometimes I can’t decide and play with all of them at once! I’m very sociable and enjoy spending time out on walks or in paddocks with the other dogs here.
I’d be happy to live with another dog in my new home if they’re a similar size to me and we get on when we meet at the NAWT. I wouldn’t be able to live with small dogs or cats though because I’d be tempted to chase them.
I’m looking for a family who’ll be home most the time to help me settle in. Any children living with me would need to be steady on their feet, as I can be quite jumpy when I’m excited and playing and wouldn't want to accidentally knock someone over. It’s also important I have a garden to run around in.
If you have the space and time to help a girl like me, apply today! Email reception@nawt.org.uk or call 0208 950 0177 (option 2) to arrange for us to meet.
