Extension plans would see a three-bedroom family home turned into a seven-bed HMO.
A design studio has submitted an application to Three Rivers District Council for a home in Gosforth Lane, South Oxhey, today (October 1).
It proposes a two-storey side and rear extension which, as shown in attached floor plans, would roughly double the size of the main property while demolishing an existing garage, shed, and some smaller storage buildings.
- Plan to turn two-bedroom Watford home into HMO submitted
- Controversial plans for almost 200 homes return under 'grey belt' rules
- Secondary school bags permission for 200 solar panels
The applicant also wants permission to use the additional space for a change of use to make it a house of multiple occupancy (HMO). The building currently has three bedrooms upstairs, but under the proposed floorplans it would have four on the first floor as well as three on the ground floor.
All bedrooms would have an ensuite and there would be an open plan living/kitchen/dining room.
The applicant says the HMO would be looked after by a property manager who has a successful track record with other locations and is committed to accommodating “mature and well-behaved individuals”.
The proposal is currently “pending consideration”.
