Hertfordshire Police are investigating multiple reports of a man acting “suspiciously” and following schoolgirls in Bushey.
A message has been circulating on Facebook claiming to be from a Watford secondary school, which warns parents against an “adult male targeting school age, lone females in the Bushey area by following them and trying to persuade them to come with him”.
It advises students to be vigilant, walk in groups or call 999 if they feel unsafe.
A spokesperson for the force has now confirmed they are investigating multiple separate "suspicious" incidents in the town between September 23 and 25.
On four different occasions, it was reported a white man had approached teenage girls in school uniform, and during two of them he reportedly touched the girls before walking off.

Police said enquiries are continuing to establish if the incidents are linked and to trace a suspect.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Jo Skingley said: “We appreciate these incidents will cause concern among the local community. We’re doing all we can to identify and trace any suspects, including a review of CCTV opportunities.
“Safety advice has been shared with schools and patrols have been increased in the area.
“If you have been approached in similar circumstances or have any information which may assist enquiries, please contact us straight away.”
