Emergency tree works have shut a road near Kings Langley this morning.
Rucklers Lane is currently closed between Lady Meadow and the A41 with the reason listed as “highways repair and maintenance works”.
Hertfordshire County Council has confirmed that this relates to “emergency tree works” but no further details of what the issue is have been shared so far. The council has been contacted for more information.

According to traffic website One Network, the road has been blocked from around 10.30am and the "repair" is listed as lasting until the end of October 3, but as it is emergency work it is likely a placeholder.

To go around the closure, motorists will travel just under three miles, using Barnes Lane, Coniston Road, and Hempstead Road.
The route is still accessible to pedestrians, as the footpath has not been closed.
It comes after motorists faced delays between Croxley Green and Chandler’s Cross today due to a van overturning in Sarratt Road, near York House School, at around 7am.
